Hanover College’s women’s soccer team fell 1-0 in overtime at unbeaten Thomas More College (Ky.), Wednesday, Sept. 19, in Crestview Hills, Ky.
Abby Gindling scored an unassisted goal fewer than three minutes into the second overtime period to lift Thomas More to its seventh win of the season.
The Saints (7-0) outshot Hanover by a 27-8 margin, but had just three shots on goal in the battle.
Senior goalie Bethann Hancock (Lexington, Ky.) had two saves in the opening half, while the Panthers’ defense held Thomas More in check until Gindling’s game-winner.
Freshmen back Jenny Schmaltz (Cincinnati, Ohio) and freshman midfielder Autry Graham (Versailles, Ky.) had two shots apiece for Hanover, now 5-2 this season.
