Hamilton, McKay lead golfers at Lady Grizzly

Junior Sloane Hamilton (Mason, Ohio) and sophomore Brooke McKay (Carmel, Ind.) tied for fourth to lead Hanover College’s women’s golf squad to a second-place finish at the Lady Grizzly Invitational.

The 18-hole tournament was played Sunday, Sept. 30, at the Legends of Indiana Golf Course in Franklin, Ind.

Hamilton and McKay each fired an eight-over-par 80 to share fourth place in a field of more than 70 golfers.

Senior Becky Roberts (Avon, Ind.) finished 11th after posting an 85. Freshmen Brittany Mosteller (Indianapolis, Ind.) and Erika Shepard (Jeffersonville, Ind.) tied for 15th place with an 87 on the par-72, 5,854-yard course.

Hanover totaled 336 strokes to finish second among seven teams. Host Franklin College was first overall with a 327, while Olivet College (Mich.) placed third with a 342.

Anderson University's Krista Zurcher, playing as an individual, captured medalist honors with a five-over 77. Franklin's Avery Brown and Christie Cates tied for second with an 80.
