Hanover College senior wide receiver Daniel Passafiume’s game-winning 25-yard touchdown run has been selected the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference’s play of the week.
Trailing the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, 27-7, in the fourth quarter, Hanover rallied with three late touchdowns to send the game into overtime.
After the Panthers forced a fumble on the Engineers’ overtime possession, Passafiume rushed around the left end and sprinted 25 yards for a touchdown on Hanover's first play to lift the squad to a 33-27 victory.
This week’s Heartland Conference play-of-the-week contest set new voting and page-view records, generating 2,160 votes and more than 10,700 page views in 36 hours.
Passafiume's dash to the endzone also earned a spot as one of the top efforts in d3football.com's national collection of outstanding plays.
