The Hanover College men’s soccer team battled with Franklin College to a 0-0 tie through two overtime periods in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference tilt, Wednesday, Oct. 24, in Franklin, Ind.
Hanover outshot the Grizzlies 18-10, but could not put the game-winner between the pipes. The Panthers had a 9-4 advantage in shots through the second half and two overtime periods.
Junior forward John Wittich (West Chester, Ohio) led the Panthers’ attack with five shots, including two shots on goal. Freshman forward Joaquin Acuna (Santiago, Chile) attempted four shots.
The Panthers collected eight corner kicks, while Franklin attempted four.
Sophomore netminder Trevor Korfhagen (Cincinnati, Ohio) had three saves through 110 minutes in Hanover's net.
The deadlock was the fourth of the season for the Panthers, now 6-7-4 overall and 2-4-2 in the Heartland Conference.
Franklin, meanwhile, is 6-7-2 overall and 4-2-1 in the league.
