The Hanover College Community Arts Series will present an unforgettable theatrical experience brought to life by The Cashore Marionettes, Friday, Nov. 9, at 7:30 p.m. in Fitzgibbon Recital Hall, Lynn Center for Fine Arts.
Featuring a cast of 27-inch characters, Joseph Cashore’s “In Life in Motion” presents his collection of marionette masterworks. Characters of depth, integrity and humanity are portrayed in a series of scenes taken from everyday life and set to beautiful music by composers such as Beethoven and Vivaldi.
Through a combination of virtuoso manipulation, humor, pathos and poetic insight, The Cashore Marionettes take the audience on a journey that celebrates the richness of life in a powerful, surprising, one-of-a-kind evening for adults and young adults.
Tickets for the performance cost $10 for adults in advance and $15 the day of the show. Seats cost $8 for seniors and $5 for youths. Information and online ticket purchasing is available at www.hanover.edu/ARTS or by phoning the Hanover box office at (812) 866-7110.
In addition to the evening performance, The Cashore Marionettes will present a free daytime performance for Madison and Jefferson County elementary schools. The afternoon show is made possible by the support of Arvin Sango.
Hanover College’s Community Arts Series’ 60th-anniversary season is presented by River Valley Financial Bank with additional funding from the Indiana Arts Commission.
