Junior Robert Bader (Louisville, Ky.) posted a fifth-place finish to lead Hanover College’s men’s golf team at the TaylorMade-adidas Invitational. The 54-hole event was played March 11-12 at the Cotton Dike Golf Course in Dataw Island, S.C.
Bader fired a three-round total of 231 (80-77-74) to finish in a three-way tie for fifth place. He was just 10 strokes behind Zander Winston from Centenary College (La.), who earned medalist honors with a 221 (77-73-71).
Hanover was eighth among 13 teams in the field. The Panthers totaled 966 strokes (321-328-317) on the par-71, 6,799-yard course. Faulkner University (Ala.) captured the team title with a 919 (299-304-316).
Senior Marcus El was 15th overall after turning in a 237 (77-82-78). Sophomore Patric Geary (Clarksville, Ind.) placed 34th with a 247 (83-83-81) and junior Terry Smith (Peru, Ind.) posted a 254 (81-86-87) to finish 45th in the 81-golfer field.
Sophomore Austin Robinson (Hagerstown, Ind.) completed Hanover’s quintet with a 66th-place finish. Robinson shot a 270 (96-90-84).
