Golfers third at Crooked Stick

Hanover College’s men’s golf team finished third at the Big Four Classic. The annual event was played Thursday, April 11, at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, Ind.

Hanover totaled 328 strokes to finish behind Butler University (312) and Wabash College (325). The Panthers finished 10 shots ahead of DePauw University (338).

Junior Robert Bader (Louisville, Ky.) and sophomore Matt Ehman (Noblesville, Ind.) earned top-five finishes in the 25-athlete field.

Bader tied for second place with a five-over 77 on the 7,112-yard course. Ehman tied for fourth, posting a six-over 78.

Senior Marcus El (Indianapolis, Ind.) and junior Terry Smith (Peru, Ind.) rounded out Hanover’s scoring.

El posted an 85 to land in 16th place. Smith was 20th with an 88.

Butler’s Andrew Wegeng was the tourney’s medalist with a two-over 74.
