Hanover College sophomore softball players Leah Kemmerer (North Vernon, Ind.), Abby Murphy (Richmond, Ind.) and Breann Truelove (Loogootee, Ind.) have received post-season recognition from the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Kemmerer, a pitcher, earned first-team all-HCAC honors after posting a 1.85 earned run average with a league-best 112 strikeouts through 23 appearances. She was 9-7 overall, including five shutouts and 12 complete games, with two saves.
At the plate, Kemmerer batted .297 with five doubles, two home runs and a team-high 30 runs-batted-in.
Murphy, who played third base and shortstop, picked up second-team all-conference honors.
She hit .292 with a team-leading 25 runs scored in 30 games on the left side of the Panthers’ infield. She had 28 hits, including seven doubles and a team-best three triples.
Truelove was named to the Heartland Conference’s all-sportsmanship team.
She played in 25 games at first base, catcher and designated hitter. She hit .159 with three doubles and a home run.
Hanover was 13-19 overall this season. The Panthers were fifth in the HCAC standings with an 8-8 mark.
