The Hanover College women’s soccer program has been picked to finish second in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference's 2013 league standings.
Hanover earned 85 points in a preseason polling of the conference’s 10 head coaches. The Panthers received one first-place vote.
Transylvania University (Ky.) was the HCAC coaches' top choice in the poll with 98 points, including eight first-place votes. Earlham College was third with 68 points and also received one first-place nod.
Last year, Hanover reached double-digit wins for the fourth consecutive season, notching a 13-4-2 overall record. The Panthers finished third in the Heartland Conference with a 6-2-1 mark.
Hanover will open the 2013 season on the road, Friday, Aug. 30, at Heidelberg University (Ohio), then travel to Ohio Northern University, Saturday, August 31.
The squad's first home mach will be, Saturday, Sept. 7, against Wittenberg University (Ohio).
The Panthers' open Heartland Conference play, Saturday, Oct. 5, against Manchester University in North Manchester, Ind..
