Hanover College's men's soccer team has been selected to place fourth in the race for the 2013 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference title.
Hanover received 68 points in the league's preseason coaches' poll, including one first-place vote.
Transylvania University (Ky.) totaled 95 points to stake a claim to the top spot, including seven first-place votes. The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology was second with 91 points (two first-place votes) and Anderson University landed third with 73 points.
Hanover finished the 2012 season with a 7-7-4 mark under then first-year head coach Matt Wilkerson. The squad was fifth in the conference with a 3-4-2 record.
The Panthers open the 2013 campaign Sunday, Sept. 1, in a home clash with Alma College (Mich.). The contest will begin at 1 p.m.
Hanover's Heartland Conference opener will be against Manchester University, Saturday, Oct. 5, in North Manchester, Ind.
