Hanover College’s men’s soccer team battled unbeaten DePauw University through 90 minutes, but fell just short in a 1-0 loss at the L.S. Ayres Athletic Complex.
DePauw netted the match’s lone goal in the 22nd minute on a deflection after an acrobatic save by junior goalkeeper Trevor Korfhagen (Cincinnati, Ohio).
Hanover was outshot by a 13-7 margin by the Tigers (6-0). Freshman forward Matthew Eldridge (Louisville, Ky.) provided a spark off the Panthers’ bench and led the squad with three shots.
Korfhagen totaled six saves, including four in a scoreless second period to keep Hanover (1-3) in the contest.
