Women's golf sixth at Small College Classic

Hanover College’s women’s golf team finished sixth at the Small College Classic. The second round of the two-day event was played at Twin Bridges Golf Course in Danville, Ind.

Hanover posted a 694 (342-352) to trail tournament champion Washington University in St. Louis (Mo.) by 66 strokes. The Bears turned in a 628 (315-313) to defeat host DePauw University and Wittenberg University (Ohio) by 13 shots (641).

Junior Brooke McKay (Carmel, Ind.) led the Panthers with a 20th-place finish after firing a 36-hole total of 169 (85-84). Senior Sloane Hamilton (Mason, Ohio) was 24th with a 171 (86-85).

Freshman Brittany Gingerich (Millersburg, Ind.) posted a 175 (81-94) to wind up 30th in the 60-athlete field. Sophomore Brittany Mosteller (Indianapolis, Ind.) finished 37th after a 181 (90-91).

DePauw’s Paige Gooch was the individual medalist with a 148 (71-77). Washington’s Connie Zhou finished second (150) and Wittenberg's Maggie Smith was third (154).
