Junior Shelby Schneider (Boonville, Ind.) and freshman Brittany Gingerich (Millersburg, Ind.) tied for fourth place to lead Hanover College’s women’s golf squad to the team championship at the Country Oaks Invitational.
The 18-hole event, hosted by Oakland City University, was played at the Country Oaks Golf Club in Montgomery, Ind.
Hanover totaled 337 strokes to edge Holy Cross College by five shots (342). Brescia University (Ky.) was third in the seven-team field with 347.
Schneider and Gingerich each turned in an 83 to share fourth place.
Sophomore Erika Shepherd (Jeffersonville, Ind.) finished seventh after carding an 84. Freshman Devan Smith (Depauw, Ind.) tied for 13th in the 35-golfer field with an 87.
Brescia’s Abbey Zehner was the tournament’s medalist. She fired a seven-over 79 on the 6,042-yard course.
