Hanover College’s men’s golf squad has three athletes near the top of the leaderboard after the opening round of the Wabash Classic. The 36-hole tournament is being held at the Crawfordsville Country Club in Crawfordsville, Ind.
Junior Patric Geary (Clarksville, Ind.), senior Terry Smith (Peru, Ind.) and freshman Ben Hamilton (Henderson, Ky.) posted scores among the top eight for Hanover, which totaled 306 strokes to land behind the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (293), DePauw University (303) and Wabash College (305) in the six-team field.
Geary is tied for second place after an opening-round 74. Smith and Hamilton share eighth in the 50-golfer field with a six-over 76.
