Hanover College’s men’s golf team finished third at the Wabash Classic. The 36-hole tournament completed play Sunday, Oct. 6, at the Crawfordsville Country Club in Crawfordsville, Ind.
Hanover totaled 610 strokes (306-304) to surge ahead of host Wabash College (612) to grab third place. DePauw University (584) captured first in the six-team field, while the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (588) was second.
Freshman Ben Hamilton (Henderson, Ky.) led Hanover with a seventh-place finish. Hamilton fired a three-over 73 in the second round and finished with a 149 (76-73).
Freshman Johnny Vidal (Harrison, Ohio) improved five strokes from the first round and finished 13th overall with a 153 (79-74). Senior Brad Baumann (Floyds Knobs, Ind.) was just two shots behind, in 25th place, with a 155 (78-77).
Junior Patric Geary (Clarksville, Ind.) tied for 28th place after posting a 157 (74-83), while junior Matt Ehman (Noblesville, Ind.) was 30th with a 158 (78-80).
Rose-Hulman’s Sanders Park captured medalist honors with a two-over 142 (68-74). Host Wabash’s Logan Burdick was second, two shots back, with a 144 (75-69).
