The Hanover College women’s tennis team clinched a share of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference title with an 8-1 win against Manchester University at the Zeddies Tennis Center.
The Panthers took five of six singles matches and won all three doubles match-ups to break a two-game winning streak for the Spartans.
Senior Danielle Miller (Fairway, Kansas) won 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1 singles and teamed with freshman Mackenzie Spicer (Indianapolis, Ind.) to win No. 1 doubles, 9-7.
Freshman Mallory Noble (Fishers, Ind.) paired with sophomore Allison Poston (Attica, Ind.) to win 8-1 at No. 2 doubles.
Both were victorious in singles action, with Noble winning 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 and Poston winning 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 6 spot.
Sophomore Alexis Taylor (Frankfort, Ind.) teamed with classmate Kelsey Jones (Hanover, Ind.) claim the third doubles victory, 8-1.
Both claimed singles victories. Noble won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3, while Jones won 6-1,6-3 at the fifth position.
Hanover is now 10-3 overall and 7-0 in the HCAC, while Manchester drops to 5-8 and 3-5 in the league.
