The Hanover College volleyball team retained the Victory Ball with a 25-13, 25-22, 25-15 win against Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference-rival Franklin College. The match was held in front of a packed crowd in Collier Arena.
Sophomore outside hitter Rachel Hasewinkel (Sheridan, Ind.) led Hanover with a match-high 14 kills, 11 digs, and one service ace, while classmate Alli Deaton (Lexington, Ky.) had a match-high 20 assists to accompany three digs and one ace.
Sophomore outside hitter Rachel Regenauer (Pewee Valley, Ky.) tallied eight kills and one solo block.
The Panthers collected 10 block assists, led by sophomore middle hitter Maggie Huffer (Indianapolis, Ind.) with four and senior outside hitter Megan Keller (Cleves, Ohio) with three.
Playing in her last Victory Ball game, senior libero Kylie Justus (Crawfordsville, Ind.) had a game-high 22 digs. Sophomore return specialist Maddie Hartman (Madison, Ind.) also reached double digits with 20 digs.
The Panthers improve their Heartland Conference record to 4-2 to remain in fourth place in the league standings and even their overall record at 13-13.
With the loss, Franklin falls to 13-12 and 2-4 in the HCAC.
