Hanover College’s volleyball team moved into third place in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference standings with a four-game victory at Anderson University.
Hanover notched its fifth consecutive victory, and fifth in a row against Anderson, with a 25-14, 21-25, 25-17, 25-14 win against the Ravens (7-17; 2-5 HCAC).
Senior return specialist Kylie Justus (Crawfordsville, Ind.), the two-time Heartland Conference defensive player of the year, piled up a career-high 40 digs and added four services aces, while the Panthers’ front line tallied a season-best eight blocks, to spur the effort.
Sophomore outside hitter Rachel Regenauer (Peewee Valley, Ky.) posted a match-high 15 kills and sophomore outside hitter Rachel Hasewinkel (Sheridan, Ind.) added 13 kills and 18 digs.
Sophomore setter Alli Deaton (Lexington, Ky.) had 22 assists and freshman Molly Murphy (Hilliard, Ohio) chipped in 20 to ignite Hanover’s offense.
The Panthers, now 14-13 overall and 5-2 in the league, are two games out of first place with matches against the College of Mount St. Joseph (5-2 HCAC) and Defiance College (7-0 HCAC) remaining in the regular season.
