Hanover College’s men’s golf team is fourth among eight schools midway through the 72-hole Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference championship. The first 36 holes of the tournament were played April 26-27 at the Legends of Indiana Golf Club in Franklin, Ind.
Hanover posted a two-round total of 627 (309-318) to land behind Transylvania University (603), the College of Mount St. Joseph (619) and the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (623) in the top half of the league field.
Senior Robert Bader (Louisville, Ky.) fired a five-over-par 149 (72-77) to lead the Panthers. Bader is third overall out of 42 athletes in the field.
Freshman P.J. Greene (Mason, Ohio) sits 10th after he turned in a 154 (74-80) on the par-72, 6,851-yard course. Senior Terry Smith (Peru, Ind.) is 13th after back-to-back rounds of 79 (158).
Freshman Johnny Vidal (Harrison, Ohio) is in 24th place with a two-round total of 167 (84-83). Junior Patric Geary (Clarskville, Ind.) rounded out the Panthers’ unit with a 169 (87-82) to finish 29th.
Rose-Hulman’s Sanders Park is atop the individual leaderboard. Park posted a 144 (70-74) and holds a three-shot advantage against Transylvania’s Nicholas McCarthy (147).
