Bader, Greene in HCAC's top 10; Panthers fourth

Hanover College’s men’s golf team lurks in fourth place after three rounds of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference championship. The closing 36 holes of the HCAC’s four-round tournament is being played at Eagle Rock Golf Club in Defiance, Ohio.

Senior Robert Bader (Louisville, Ky.) and freshman P.J. Greene (Mason, Ohio) are each among the field's top 10 three-quarters of the way through the event.

Bader sits in fifth place with a 225 (72-77-76), including a 76 on the par-70, 6,130-yard course in the third round. Greene is 10th overall after totaling 232 strokes (74-80-78).

Senior Terry Smith (Peru, Ind.) is 18th among 37 athletes in the tourney with 242 (79-79-84). Junior Patric Geary (Clarksville, Ind.) and freshman Johnny Vidal (Harrison, Ohio) are tied for 21st with 247.

Hanover has totaled 939 strokes in the tournament (309-318-312) and is 43 shots off the pace set by Transylvania University (Ky.). The Pioneers lead the eight-team field with 896 strokes (298-305-293).

The College of Mount St. Joseph (Ohio) is second with 930 (297-322-311). The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology is just one shot behind in third place with 931 (305-318-308).

Rose-Hulman’s Sanders Park is the individual leader with a 220 (70-74-76). Transylvania’s Clay Hinton is one stroke back in second place (221).
