Softball players Leah Kemmerer (North Vernon, Ind.), Victoria Wilson (Camby, Ind.), Gabrielle Ritchey (Loogootee, Ind.) and Breann Truelove (Loogootee, Ind.) have each received post-season honors from the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Kemmerer, a junior pitcher, earned first-team all-Heartland Conference honors for the second year in a row. She set Hanover single-season records with 14 wins and 131 strikeouts. The righthander posted a 14-4 overall record with a 2.75 earned run average.
At the plate, Kemmerer batted a career-high .302 with five doubles, a homer and 14 runs-batted-in.
Wilson, who played in 28 games at catcher and designated hitter, was named to the HCAC's second team.
The sophomore led the Panthers with a .356 batting average and five home runs. She also tallied five doubles and 20 RBI.
Ritchey, a freshman, played in all 36 games during her first collegiate season, logging action in the outfield as well as third base.
Often Hanover's lead-off hitter, she scored a team-high 31 runs and hit .318 with three doubles and one triple.
Truelove, a junior, was named to the league’s sportsmanship team for the second consecutive season.
She played in 19 games at catcher, batting .107 with three doubles and a home run.
Hanover was 18-18 overall this season. The Panthers finished sixth in the Heartland Conference standings with an 7-9 mark.
