Another day of storm delays limited play in the NCAA III women's golf championship in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. Third-round action was suspended by darkness after more than four hours of weather-related stoppage pushed the start of action into the late afternoon.
All five Hanover golfers had finished at least nine holes when play was halted. The Panthers have totaled 709 strokes through two completed rounds (358-351) and remain 15th overall in the 21-team field.
Junior Brooke McKay (Carmel, Ind.) had five pars and was six-over through 11 holes. Sophomore Erika Shepherd (Jeffersonville, Ind.) was five-over with four pars and a birdie, while freshman Devan Smith (Depauw, Ind.) was six-over with five pars, through 10 holes of play.
Sophomores Brittany Mosteller (Indianapolis, Ind.) and Brittany Gingerich (Millersburg, Ind.) each completed nine holes on the 5,844-yard course. Gingerich was 14-over and Mosteller 15-over at the time of stoppage.
The third round will be completed Friday, May 16, at 7:30 a.m. The final round of the 72-hole event will begin at approximately noon.
