College prep conference to help search and decision process

Members of Hanover College’s faculty, staff and student body will be on hand at the 7th Annual College Prep Conference and College Fair to help students in grades 8-12 and their families navigate the college search and decision process. Hosted by the Center for Leadership Development (CLD), the conference takes place Saturday, Aug. 9, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the Indiana Convention Center in downtown Indianapolis.

Associate Director of Admission Jane Stormer, a member of the Hanover class of 2004, will present, “Earn your Scholarship … Invest In Your Future” along with a panel of current Hanover students.

Monica Green, who serves as associate director of admissions and director of the Benjamin Templeton Scholarship Program, will present  “The Parent Purpose,” a guide for parents to know what role they play in the college search and decision process.

Assistant Professor of English Kay Stokes, who directs Hanover’s Gladish Learning Center, will partner with senior Daquisha Jones to present “How to Study in College.”

Registration for the conference is $15, which includes breakfast and lunch. Interested students can register at the CLD website, ccldinc.org. The deadline to register is July 27, 2014.
