Inauguration Schedule

Monday, Sept. 17
5:00pm | Student Dinner - Students on the south end of campus (sorority court, KP, Donner-Ide, Fiji, College and Ogle) get to share some one-on-one time with President DeWine.

Exhibits - Take a peek at some interesting exhibits throughout the Inauguration week. The Duggan Library will host their Archive Adventures series with artifacts from one of the world's greatest explorers, Captain James Cook and the art gallery will feature an exhibition of works from Brad McCombs. His exhibition includes motion sensitive sculpture, painting, and video projections interwoven into a gallery experience that encourages dialogue about activism, anthropology, ecology, and sociology. On Friday, he will present a lecture on art and ecology and how students can integrate multiple disciplines effectively and engage the world around them.

Tuesday, Sept. 18
5:00pm | Welcome Back Dinner - Campus Center Main Dining Room - Steak and Shrimp at $10 per family along with a welcome from our new President.

Wednesday Sept. 19
4:00pm | Men's Soccer vs. Marian College - Soccer Field - Come out and support the Panthers as they battle the Marian College Knights during this week-long celebration.

4:00pm | Hora de Café - Haq Center - President DeWine will visit with students, professors and community members who gather to informally practice Spanish and share stories about the cultures of the Spanish speaking world.

5:00pm | Student Dinner - Students living on the northern side of campus (Greenwood, Wiley, Blythe, Coulter, File, Young, Lambda, Phi Delt and Garritt) get an opportunity to dine with the new President.

Thursday, Sept. 20
3:00 - 4:00pm | International Student Reception - Campus Center Lobby/East Lounge - Mingle with our new and returning international students and enjoy light refreshments.  Following the reception, there is a performance by Hanover College's men's vocal quartet, IL DIVO 2, Dr. Madlen Batchvarova, Director.

8:30pm | My Story - Shoebox - Join us as we launch a new program called "My Story" where students get to know their professors outside of class. Introduce yourself to President and Mike DeWine, as we kick off the first of a series of casual chats with Hanover faculty.

Friday, Sept. 21
5:00pm | Women's Soccer vs. Marian College - Soccer Field - See our Lady Panthers take on the Knights of Marian.

7:30pm | Second City Theatre Troupe Performance - Collier Arena - See one of the world's most famous improvisational comedy troupe in this special performance to celebrate the Inauguration. Tickets free to Hanover students, $12 per adult and $5 for ages 6- 18. Make your reservations now by calling Pat Schuring at 1-812-866-7200.

Saturday, Sept. 22
12:30 - 2:30pm |  Center for Business Preparation Poster Session – Campus Center Lobby – Talk to our Class of 2008 Scholars about their summer internships and learn more about the CBP program.

3:00pm | Installation Ceremony - The Point (rainsite Collier Arena) - You are invited to the official Installation Ceremony of Hanover's 15th President, Dr. Sue DeWine. After the ceremony we will host a Reception for the campus with light refreshments in the Science Center.

7:00pm |  Inauguration Gala - Science Center - Join our new President as she welcomes the campus and the community to this historic event featuring music, food and festivity. A cash bar will be available. Semi-formal attire.
