The legendary comedy troupe The Second City Touring Company will bring its high-energy act to the Hanover College campus Friday, Sept. 21. The performance, which is part of Hanover's Community Arts and Culture Series, will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Collier Arena in the Horner Health and Recreation Center.
The Second City has performed around the world at theatres, colleges and universities and festivals for more than 30 years. Started in the 1950s as a theatre club by a group of students from the University of Chicago, The Second City has become an international phenomenon by making its mark in live theatre, motion pictures and television. The troupe boasts a list of alumni that includes such stars as Stephen Colbert, Steve Carell, Ryan Stiles, Mike Myers, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, John Belushi, Dan Ackroyd, Bill Murray, Gilda Radner, John Candy and Eugene Levy.
At Hanover, The Second City touring company will perform its newest touring show, "One Nation, Under Blog." This collection of comedic scenes, songs and improvisation is pulled from today's headlines and the worlds of politics, entertainment and media.
Tickets for The Second City's performance cost $12 for adults and $5 for youths. The program content is appropriate for ages high school and older.
Adult season tickets for the series, which also includes Hanover's theatre, arts, music and choral events, are available for $50 through Sept. 21. A season pass for youths ages 6-18 is available for $20. Individual performance tickets cost $12 for adults and $5 for youths.

Because the performance of The Second City is the featured entertainment of Hanover's presidential inauguration weekend, patrons are strongly encouraged to purchase tickets in advance.
