Hanover College's Centers of Excellence
Hanover College's Centers for Excellence provide a unique extension of the education benefits you receive in the classroom. Using the broad scope of the liberal arts, the centers enhance the life of campus in such areas as cultural broadening, vocational exploration and spiritual guidance.
The College's Centers of Excellence include the Center for Business Preparation, The Rivers Institute at Hanover College, The Center for Free Inquiry, The Center for Church Leadership and the Career Connections Program.
The Center for Business Preparation
Hanover College's Center for Business Preparation (CBP) is much more than a traditional business major. As a CBP student, you'll develop keen analytical skills, extensive problem-solving experience and the ability to express yourself, all of which you'll be able to bring to the workplace. In fact, some call it the undergraduate equivalent of an M.B.A.
With CBP, you'll gain fundamental business knowledge and authentic, hands-on experience while majoring in a liberal arts field. Through experiences both in and out of the classroom, the program allows you to explore careers, apply business theories and network with otustanding Hanover alumni business leaders in a vast variety of fields. Project-based internships, case research and group-consulting project partnerships with working businesses will open doors for your future.
Starting this year, students who apply for admission to Hanover College can simultaneously apply to the CBP. This means you can begin to build your experience and résumé as soon as you step foot on campus.
The Rivers Institute at Hanover College
The Rivers Institute enhances an understanding of the culture, economics and science of river systems around the world. The institute is the first academic program in the world to use liberal arts for the interdisciplinary and collaborative study of rivers.

The center's staff, which includes Hanover faculty members in a number of fields, provides expertise and consulting services. The institute enhances the College's academic program, while also providing educational resources in river-related subjects for elementary through high school teachers and classrooms around the globe.

The Center for Church Leadership
Hanover College's Center for Church Leadership addresses your spiritual needs and the leadership needs of regional churches and denominations through a series of interconnected and collaborative programs. The center strives to strengthen that relationship between the College and the Presbyterian Church in ways that provide mutual benefit to both.
The Center for Church Leadership's driving components focus on programs for you and ordained and lay leaders.
The CCL can help you understand your calling to either ordained or lay ministries. A campus-wide vocational mentoring program is open to all students. The College's pre-ministry program strives to identify and encourage students to pursue callings to the ministry.
The center's continuing education programs address the ongoing educational needs of ordained and lay leaders throughout the region.
