What Artists Have To Say
Tom Block is a visiting artist who recently visited Hanover in conjunction with his Human Rights Painting Project exhibit currently at the art gallery. After his visit he had the following things to say about Hanover College.
I wanted to write quickly to let you know how impressed I was with both you student body and professors. I have had many experiences in visiting universities and colleges in conjunction with my art -- all around the United States at large and small universities and colleges -- and I have never had a more fulfilling experience in terms of finding a group of interested students and faculty.
The person directly responsible for bringing me and my work to the students in a variety of manners, from informal lunches and class visits to the final, large lecture, was the gallery director and art professor, Leticia Bajuyo. Her energy, creativity and talent in introducing me to your students in different manners that would attract them to my ideas was unique -- I have never in my travels met a more committed and energetic partner for a visit of mine to a college or university. A visit to a college or university is always a collaboration between myself and the professor that is responsible for my visit, and Ms. Bajuyo certainly went above and beyond to make sure that the students would be able to benefit from whatever talents I might have to share.
Please accept my congratulations for the energy and dedication of both your students and professors at your college -- and especially for a true gem, Leticia Bajuyo.
All my best --
Tom Block
