The Hanover Capstone is the first annual exploratory project designed to focus on an issue of contemporary importance, global climate change. Within this endeavor, all the different fields of study of the liberal arts will be utilized as we explore the multiple perspectives and facets of that subject.
The capstone will include a variety of elements, beginning with several public lectures by well-known and respected authorities on this important and timely topic. This series of lectures will present the issue's fundamental elements in a way that will allow you to take those concepts and explore the issue's multiple dimensions throughout the year.
Additional speakers will explore the topic in greater detail in a major symposium during each semester. There will also be various roundtables where you can ask the experts questions along with community members and Hanover students, faculty and staff.
Each year, Hanover will publish a journal detailing the capstone experience including the thoughts and opinions of our guest speakers along with the essays presented at the symposia. This collection of articles will become a lasting legacy of Hanover College's contribution to the discussion of this significant and noteworthy issue.
