Judith C. Roberts, M.Ed. grew up in central Ohio. She attended the Ohio State University and graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education from Muskingum College, New Concord, Ohio. While living in the Boston area, Judy taught first grade and earned her M.Ed. in Reading from Boston College. As a graduate assistant she taught an introduction to education class and a course in linguistics, worked with the Boston School Volunteers program, and supervised student teachers. Judy then taught first and second grades and learning disabilities for ten years in Huron, Ohio. Her fondest memories relate to teaching children how to read and getting them involved in self-expression through writing. After moving to the Hanover area, she was hired as a reading specialist in the Switzerland County Schools, where she taught language arts to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Once again her focus was on reading, but at this level the emphasis was upon comprehension strategies and motivation. Judy comes to Hanover College with 25 years of teaching experience including elementary and middle school, regular classroom and learning disabilities resource room.
