Hanover College Information Technology is responsible for the high speed data network, wireless data network, cable TV, email, calendaring, internet access, file storage, messaging, web service, and the campus computer lab/server systems management and development. The department is also responsible for all computer hardware and software purchases, computer systems management, campus support, and computer consultation for Hanover College students, faculty, and staff. Information Technology also provides professional computer applications training to students, faculty, and staff on an on-going basis at no charge. IT Help Desk
The Hanover College IT Help Desk is the main support center for all computing support on campus. With its inception in 2003, the Help Desk gives Hanover College students, faculty, and staff a level of support that was previously unavailable. Staffed by Hanover College students, the Help Desk is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Monday-Friday), giving instant phone support to the entire campus community during these hours. In addition to phone support, the Help Desk also encourages students to bring their computers by for free service at any time (during hours of operation) throughout the week. Free student support includes: antivirus software installation/configuration, spyware removal, disk cleanups, disk defragmentation, software updates (Windows Updates), and other requested services. The Help Desk will also aid anyone with any computer questions they may have relating to personal software or hardware problems.
