Choosing a college is about choosing a place that enables you to reach your goals and ambitions. We’ve been giving over-achievers a leg up on the competition for decades at Hanover: you’ll have a seriously talented and diverse campus community behind you every step of the way.
There has never been a more exciting time to be at Hanover College. In addition to our accomplished faculty and academic programs, we are enhancing student resources with four new initiatives:
Our financial aid team is 100% dedicated to making Hanover as affordable as possible and will work directly with you to put together the best financial aid package we can offer. And while you’re busy investing in your Hanover education, Hanover is investing millions of dollars in you and your peers. Hanover’s strong endowment allows us to be aggressive in offering financial aid to qualified students. Our generous packages ensure that, on average, Hanover students graduate with similar debt as those that attend public state universities in Indiana. Learn more about Financial Aid.
Hanover has exceptional faculty who will not only hold you to high standards, but will put in the extra effort to ensure you meet them. And our students excel as a result: 98% of Hanover graduates complete their degree in 4 years and we have a first-year retention rate of 84%.
There’s no better way to prepare for your future than reality based training. Every year hundreds of Hanover students compete for internships around the nation and the globe – and they get them. Travel to Ecuador and help doctors and nurses give badly needed medical care to a small community. Develop a marketing plan for a local non-profit. Create exhibits at big city museums. With the help of our Career Center, Office of Experiential Learning and extensive alumni network, finding a placement and a mentor is easier than you may think.
These kinds of real world experiences make Hanover students stand out: 97.6% are employed or enter graduate school within seven months of graduation.
Imagine a whole month focused on exploring your favorite subject with your favorite professor – across campus or around the world. Now stop imagining. At Hanover, students take four classes in the fall, four classes in the winter and just one class in the month of May. Students have chosen to study the classics in Greece or Rome, visit ancient temples in China, and practice their Spanish in Ecuador, to name a few options.
And just in case you need to blow off a little steam, Wiffleball rules during Spring Term. During our three-week Wiffleball tournament, run by Lambda Chi Alpha for charity, practically every student on campus joins one of our 85 Wiffleball teams that go head-to-head in a winner-takes-all competition. Bring your A-game and watch out for the faculty and staff teams; it’s not just students who take this tournament seriously.
With an impressive 12-to-1 student-to-faculty ratio, an average class size of 15 and one third of professors living directly on campus, your teachers are better than the FBI’s facial recognition app. There's no getting lost in the crowd around here.
We're competitive, but not exclusive. If you have an interest in becoming an NCAA athlete, you’ll have your chance here. We also offer club sports like rugby and Ultimate Frisbee. Once a Panther, always a Panther. Become a Hanover Panther.
You would have to try extremely hard to be bored at Hanover. Apart from classes, athletics, internships and study abroad programs, Hanover has over 65 clubs and organizations on campus, so you’ll be able to participate in everything from theatre, student publications, Greek life and improv comedy groups to pre-professional clubs. If we don’t offer something you want to see on campus, go ahead and create it.
There is no other way to say it: Hanover’s campus is stunning. It’s what a college campus should be, from classic architecture (think columns and bell towers) to panoramic views of the Ohio River. Whether you spread a blanket out on the quad or claim a favorite lounge chair in the library, your environment will make studying something you actually want to do. Hanover College was recently named among the “20 Most Beautiful College Campuses” in the country by the Princeton Review, and one of the “17 College Campuses with the Best Fall Foliage” by Her Campus. Hanover is the only school in Indiana to make one or both lists.
