Head Baseball Coach
Shayne Stock is in his fifth season guiding Hanover's baseball program. A former Hanover assistant coach, he had previously served as head coach at Transylvania University (Ky.) for four seasons.
Stock, who led the Panthers to 19 wins in his first season, inherited the Hanover program from hall-of-famer Dick Naylor, who guided the Panthers from 1970 to 2005.
Stock was an assistant coach under Naylor from 1999 to 2001. He became the head coach at Transylvania prior to the 2002 season and guided the Pioneers to a 67-85 overall record, including a 45-30 mark in the past two seasons.
He was named the HCAC coach of the year in 2004 after leading Transylvania to a school-record 28 wins (28-11).
The Pioneers were 17-19 overall and 9-10 in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference in 2005.
Before joining Hanover's staff, Stock served as an assistant coach at DePauw University from 1997 to 1999 and was an assistant coach at Clarksville High School (IN).
A former middle- and high-school teacher, Stock earned a bachelor's degree in secondary education from Southern Indiana University in 1997. He earned a master's degree in education from Indiana University Southeast in 2004.
Stock was an all-Great Lakes Valley Conference pitcher and team captain at Southern Indiana. He helped the Screaming Eagles earn two trips to the NCAA Division II Midwest Regionals.
