Panthers finish seventh in HCAC championship
The Hanover College men's golf squad placed seventh among eight teams in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships. The final 36 holes of the four-round tournament were played May 1-2 at the Aston Oaks Golf Course in North Bend, Ohio.

Senior Jason Reed (Indianapolis, Ind.) led the Panthers with a 14th-place finish. Reed posted a 79 in the third round and an 87 in the final 18 holes to finish with a 328.

Freshman Will Taylor (Owensboro, Ky.) fired an 86 in round three and an 85 in the fourth round for a 72-hole total of 339. He placed 24th in a field of 42 athletes.

Freshman Vikram Ramjee (Cincinnati, Ohio) finished the tournament in 30th place. Ramjee shot a 79 in the third round and an 88 on the final day. He totaled 347 strokes in the tourney.

Senior Dustin Gardner (Nashville, Ind.) notched a 33rd-place finish for the Panthers. He turned in an 81 in round three and a 90 in the fourth round to push his tournament total to 351.

Hanover posted a team score of 1,364 (346-344-325-349). The Panthers defeated Defiance College (Ohio), who finished eighth overall with 1,387 strokes.

Transylvania University (Ky.) placed five golfers in the top eight spots and captured its third consecutive HCAC championship. The Pioneers totaled 1,233 strokes in the tournament (321-306-303-303) and defeated runner-up Franklin College by 37 strokes (1,270).

Transylvania's Brad Sutherland earned individual medalist honors for the second straight season. Sutherland, who tallied a 305 in four rounds, fired a 77 in the third round and closed with an even-par 72 on the 6,749-yard course.

Hanover seventh midway through HCAC finals
Hanover College's men's golf team sits in seventh place midway through the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships. The first two rounds of the 72-hole tournament were played April 25-26 at Hulman Links Golf Course in Terre Haute, Ind.

Senior Jason Reed (Indianapolis, Ind.) is one of five golfers tied for the ninth spot. Reed fired back-to-back rounds of 81 for an 18-over-par 162 after 36 holes.

Freshman Will Taylor (Owensboro, Ky.) turned in a 168 (86-82) and is 23rd overall in the 42-athlete field.

Senior Dustin Gardner (Nashville, Ind.) and freshman Vikram Ramjee (Cincinnati, Ohio) are tied for 33rd place. Each player totaled 180 strokes in the first two rounds.

Gardner opened with an 89 and shot a 91 on the second day of the tournament. Ramjee has posted consecutive rounds of 90 on the 6,775-yard, par-72 course.

Hanover totaled 690 strokes to earn its position in the event standings. The Panthers are three shots ahead of Defiance College (Ohio).

Transylvania University (Ky.) leads Franklin College by 12 stokes in the team standings. The Pioneers, with five golfers in the top nine spots, have totaled 627 strokes (321-306). Franklin has a two-round total of 639 (322-317).

The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology's Mark Koroluk and Transylvania's Brad Sutherland are tied atop the leaderboard with 156s. Six additional golfers are within three shots of the lead.

Panthers eighth at Rose-Hulman Invitational
The Hanover College men's golf team finished eighth among nine squads at the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Invitational. The 36-hole tournament was held April 18-19 at Hulman Links Golf Course in Terre Haute, Ind.

Senior Jason Reed (Indianapolis, Ind.) turned in the best round of the season for Hanover, which totaled 681 strokes (343-338). Reed posted a 163 (80-83) to finish 19th out of 54 athletes in the field. His opening-round 80 was the top 18-hole score of the spring for the squad.

Senior David Hull (Indianapolis, Ind.) placed 34th with a 169 (87-82). Freshman Vikram Ramjee (Cincinnati, Ohio) was 41st for the Panthers. Ramjee fired a 176 (93-83) on the 6,775-yard, par-72 course.

Transylvania University (Ky.) won the invitational's team championship with 613 strokes (310-313). The College of Mount St. Joseph (Ohio) was second with a 633 (319-314).

Franklin College's Eric Whitaker was the tournament's individual medalist. Whitaker shot a one-over-par 145 (74-71) to edge Transylvania's Eli Glass by one stroke (72-74).

Hanover fourth at Crooked Stick classic
Hanover College's men's golf team tackled Crooked Stick Golf Course during the annual Big Four Classic, April 9, in Carmel, Ind.

Hanover finished fourth out of the four schools in the annual event. The Panthers totaled 349 strokes to finish behind DePauw University (313), Butler University (317) and Wabash College (318).

Senior Jason Reed (Indianapolis, Ind.) posted the highest individual finish of the season for Hanover. Reed fired a 10-over-par 82 to finish ninth in a 26-golfer field.

Seniors David Gardner (Nashville, Ind.) and David Hull (Indianapolis, Ind.) tied for 20th place. Each athlete shot an 88 on the 7,159-yard course.

Butler's Kyle Thomas earned top individual honors with a one-over-par 73.

Panthers 10th at Mount St. Joseph tourney
Hanover College's men's golf squad placed last among 10 schools in the College of Mount St. Joseph (Ohio) Invitational. The 36-hole tournament was played April 4-5 at the Aston Oaks Golf Course in North Bend, Ohio.

Senior Jason Reed (Indianapolis, Ind.) fired a two-round total of 169 (85-84) to lead the Panthers with a 26th-place finish in the 66-athlete field.

Freshman Will Taylor (Owensboro, Ky.) finished 42nd overall. Taylor posted a 178 (88-90) on the par-72, 6,749-yard course.

Hanover totaled 719 strokes (365-354) to finish nearly 100 strokes off the pace. Host Mount St. Joseph won the team title with a 622 (313-309). Transylvania University (Ky.) was second with a 633 (314-319).

Mount St. Joseph's Dean Kruschinski was the individual medalist. Kruschinski turned in a five-over 149 (70-79) to win by five strokes.

Vincennes wins Hanover Invitational crown
Vincennes University captured the team title and Wabash College's Jordan Vice earned the individual crown in the 2009 Hanover College Men's Golf Invitational. The 36-hole tournament was played March 28-29 at the Shadowood Golf Course in Seymour, Ind. Results (PDF) / Golfstat
