Harriers cap finals week at RHIT Twilight
The Hanover College men's and women's track & field teams ended a week of final exams by participating in the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology's non-scored Twilight Meet, Friday, April 17, in Terre Haute, Ind.
Junior Zach Seig (Anderson, Ind.) posted a first—place finish in the men's shot put and finished second in the hammer throw to lead the Panthers' charge.
Seig had an effort of 48-feet, 1.25-inches to win the shot put by more than four feet. Sophomore Seth Miller (Noblesville, Ind.) was third in the event with a put of 44-feet, 6.75-inches.
Seig placed second in the hammer throw with a 149-foot, two-inch toss. Freshman Stephen Carter (Bloomington, Ind.) was fourth in the event with an effort of 137-feet, six-inches.
Junior Joe Vormohr (Portland, Ind.) earned a second-place finish in the discus with a 138-foot, 10-inch heave. Carter (8) and Seig (9) each turned in top-10 performances for Hanover.
Sophomore Scott DeMoss (Martinsville, Ind.) was third in the javelin at the meet with a throw that covered 146-feet, 10-inches.
Sophomores Andrea Thomas (Brazil, Ind.), Rachel Logar (Carmel, Ind.) and Abbie Brownell (Weston, Fla.) led Hanover's women's squad in the competition.
Thomas finished second in the pole vault with an effort of eight-feet, six-inches.
Logar posted a third-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.22 seconds.
Brownell covered 30-feet, 11.75-inches to place fifth in the women's triple jump for the Panthers.
