Netters blank Bluffton in HCAC clash

The Hanover College men's tennis squad shut out Bluffton University (Ohio), 9-0, in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference battle Saturday, April 14, in Lima, Ohio.

Hanover, 7-8 overall and 3-4 in the league, swept the three doubles matches and all six singles matches to notch the victory.

Junior Devon Sharpe (Indianapolis, Ind.) and freshman Yizhe Huang (Xi'an, China) each recorded their first collegiate wins.

Sharpe earned a 6-4, 6-4, win against Bluffton's Matt McCoy at No. 5 singles. Huang defeated John Oyer, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 6.

Sharpe also paired with classmate Derek Zimmers (Liberty, Ind.) for an 8-3 triumph against McCoy and Oyer at No. 3 doubles.

Bluffton fell to 0-7 overall and 0-4 in the HCAC with the setback.
