Junior hurdler Lexi Vincz (Greenfield, Ind.) led several strong performances by the Hanover College women’s track & field team at the Ohio Wesleyan University Final Qualifier. The meet was held Monday, May 14, in Delaware, Ohio.
Vincz broke her own school record in the 400-meter hurdles, running 1:03.70 to eclipse the field and finish first overall.
Classmate Maggie Noger (Lexington, Ky) finished third in the triple jump, leaping 10.69 meters. Her mark is the second-best in Hanover history and missed Patty Emshwiller’s 1997 record by just two centimeters.
Senior middle-distance runner Sara Lucas (Avon, Ind.) finished eighth in the 800-meters. Her time of 2:20.32 is just shy of her own record in the event of 2:19.38 set just last weekend.
Fellow senior Rachael Moreland (Lawton, Mich.) finished fourth in her final steeplechase race. Moreland, Hanover's record-holder in the event, placed fourth in a time of 12:05.89.
