Hanover College’s men’s soccer team placed three players on the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference’s all-league squad.
Sophomore Mathew Grau (Cincinnati, Ohio) earned first-team honors for the Panthers, while junior forward John Wittich (West Chester, Ohio) and freshman forward Joaquin Acuna (Santiago, Chile) were second-team selections.
Grau, who was a second-team all-HCAC pick as a freshman, recorded two assists while directing the squad from his mid-field slot.
Wittich led the Panthers with 17 points, including a team-high eight goals and an assist. The eight goals were the most for a Hanover player since Jeremy Owens scored nine during the 2006 campaign.
Acuna was fourth on the squad with five points. He netted one goal and had a team-best three assists in his first collegiate season.
Under first-year head coach Matt Wilkerson, Hanover finished 7-7-4 overall. The Panthers placed fifth in the Heartland Conference standings with a 3-4-2 record.
