Senior defender Kaitlin McCulloch (Florence, Ky.) and freshman midfielder Rachel Alvis (Cincinnati, Ohio) have been named to the all-Great Lakes Region squad by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
McCulloch, a four-time all-region selection, was selected to the organization's regional first team for the second consecutive season. Alvis earned a slot on the NSCAA’s Great Lakes Region third team.
A four-time all-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference honoree, McCulloch helped the Panthers' defensive unit post 10 shutouts in 19 matches and also tie the school record by allowing just 10 goals.
She was named the Heartland Conference’s defensive player of the year in 2011 and 2012. She was also named the HCAC's newcomer of the year in 2009.
Alvis scored six goals and had two assists in her first collegiate season. She was second on the squad with 14 points.
Hanover closed its 2012 campaign with a 13-4-2 overall record. The Panthers placed third in the Heartland Conference standings with a 6-2-1 mark.
