Prater reaches 1,000-point milestone

Senior forward Courtney Prater (Anderson, Ind.) has become the 13th player in Hanover College women’s basketball history to record more than 1,000 career points (1,021).

Prater netted a team-high 23 points to lead Hanover to a come-from-behind, 80-77, overtime victory against Centre College (Ky.) in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic, Dec. 28, in Montgomery, Ala.

She entered the game with 998 career points and reached the 1,000-point milestone when she scored from inside just 100 seconds into the contest.

She totaled 385 points and averaged a team-high 14.8 points per outing while leading the Panthers to a 21-5 record in her first season on campus.

This winter, Prater leads Hanover with a career-best 18.7 points per outing. The effort includes a career-high 28 points in an overtime loss at Defiance College (Ohio), Dec. 8.
