The Hanover College men’s basketball squad’s eight-game winning streak came to an end with a 78-76 loss at Franklin College. The Panthers and Grizzlies met in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference battle, Wednesday, Jan. 30, in Franklin, Ind.
Sophomore guard Kyle James (Indianapolis, Ind.) hit four three-pointers and finished with a career-high 19 points off the bench to lead Hanover. Senior forward Brian Gunter (Louisville, Ky.), who reached double figures in his fifth straight outing, added 13 points.
The Panthers slipped to 13-7 overall and 10-3 in the HCAC with the setback.
Gunner Erwin led four Franklin players in double figures with a game-high 24 points. Bailey Howard and Terry Sargent added 16 points apiece.
The Grizzlies improved to 12-8 overall and 7-6 in the league with the triumph.
