The Hanover College men’s tennis team lost a non-conference match against Brescia University (Ky.), 6-3, Monday, April 1, at the Zeddies Tennis Center.
Senior Steven Gilliam (Fishers, Ind.) and freshman Andrew Nice (Salem, Ind.) recorded singles victories. Sophomore Brian Clark (New Palestine, Ind.) and his brother, freshman Reid, posted a doubles win for Hanover, now 2-9 overall this spring.
Gilliam, who has reeled off five straight victories, earned a 7-6, 6-4, win against Brescia’s Moises Goncalves at No. 1.
The triumph was the third in a row for Nice, who rallied for a 4-6, 6-2, 11-9, victory at No. 6 against the Bearcats’ Seth Ferguson.
Brian and Reid Clark defeated Goncalves and Lucas Ang, 8-4, at No. 1 doubles.
Brescia raised its record to 2-7 with the triumph.
