Golfers roll to invitational title

Sophomore Brooke McKay (Carmel, Ind.) and senior Bridget Neal (Fort Thomas, Ky.) led Hanover College’s women’s golf squad to the team title at the Hanover Spring Invitational. The annual 18-hole event was played Monday, April 1, at Spring Hills Golf Course in Hanover, Ind.

McKay posted an 86 to earn medalist honors. Neal followed with an 87 to pace Hanover, which claimed the top six spots in the 19-athlete field.

Freshman Erika Shepherd (Jeffersonville, Ind.) placed third with an 89 on the par-72, 5,800-yard course. Classmate Brittany Mosteller (Indianapolis, Ind.) was fourth after firing a 90, while sophomore Shelby Schneider (Boonville, Ind.) finished fifth with a 91.

Hanover totaled 352 strokes to defeat Kentucky Wesleyan College (389) and the College of Mount St. Joseph (394). The Panthers also entered a second unit, which posted a 389.

Freshman Alli Lindenschmidt (Indianapolis, Ind.) led the group with a 92 to finish sixth overall.
