Junior Robert Bader (Louisville, Ky.) led Hanover College’s men’s golf team to a third-place finish at the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Invitational. The second round of the 36-hole tournament was held, Sunday, April 14, at Rea Park Golf Course in Terre Haute, Ind.
Bader finished in a three-way tie for first place after firing a 146 (71-75). He shared the top spot with Transylvania University (Ky.) junior Clay Hinton (74-72) and Franklin College junior Griffen Brown (71-75).
Brown claimed medalist honors with a 12-foot birdie putt on the first playoff hole.
Hanover posted 611 strokes (302-309) to finish third among 10 teams in the tournament. Transylvania was first overall with a 594 (295-299). Franklin College finished second with a two-day total of 600 (304-296).
Sophomore Patric Geary (Clarksville, Ind.) placed 10th out of 78 golfers in the field with a 151 (76-75). Senior Marcus el (Indianapolis, Ind.) finished 22nd after shooting 156 (77-79) on the par-72, 6,482-yard course. Junior Terry Smith (Peru, Ind.) capped the Panthers’ scoring with a 158 (78-80).
