Three members of Hanover College’s men’s tennis team have earned post-season honors from the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Senior Steven Gilliam (Fishers, Ind.) was selected to the Heartland Conference’s first team, while sophomore Brian Clark (New Palestine, Ind.) and his brother, freshman Reid Clark (New Palestine, Ind.), were second-team honorees.
Gilliam is an all-HCAC selection for the third time in his career. In 2010, he was a first-team pick and also named the league's freshman of the year. He earned honorable mention as a sophomore.
Gilliam was 8-7 in the No. 1 singles position, including a string of five consecutive victories in the middle portion of the season. He posted a 5-3 mark in conference matches.
Brian Clark earned an 8-8 singles record while playing in the Nos. 1-3 slots. He had a pair of three-match winning streaks during the campaign and finished with a 7-2 mark in HCAC matches.
In addition to second-team honors, he also earned a spot on the conference's all-sportsmanship team,
Reid Clark was 6-11 in the Nos. 2-3 singles positions during his first collegiate season. He was 5-4 in league matches.
The Clarks also teamed for a 7-7 record in doubles matches, including a 5-4 mark in HCAC action.
Hanover capped the season with a 5-13 overall record. The Panthers were fifth in the Heartland Conference with a 5-4 mark.
