Hamilton, Smith lead golfers to Transy title

Senior Sloane Hamilton (Mason, Ohio) and freshman Devan Smith (Depauw, Ind.) each fired a 91 to lead Hanover College’s women’s golf team to an 11-stroke victory at the Transylvania University (Ky.) Fall Invitational.

Hanover totaled 376 strokes to hold off host Transylvania (387) at the University Club’s Wildcat Course in Lexington, Ky.

Hamilton and Smith shared second place in the 22-golfer field with Jen Trame from the College of Mount St. Joseph (Ohio).

Sophomores Alli Lindenschmidt (Indianapolis, Ind.) and Brittany Mosteller (Indianapolis, Ind.) each posted a 97 to round out the Panthers’ scoring.

Junior Rachel Helt (Terre Haute, Ind.), playing as an individual, also turned in a 97.

Transylvania's Jerra Kelsey was the tournament's medalist with an 84.
