Sophomore midfielder Autry Graham (Versailles, Ky.) converted a late header to lift Hanover College’s women’s soccer team to a 1-0 victory at Ohio Northern University.
Graham punched in her third collegiate goal, and first of the season, off a cross from freshman forward Elaine Simpson (Lexington, Ky.) in the 87th minute to raise the Panthers’ record to 2-0.
Sophomore goalkeeper Morgan Cole (Mason, Ohio) recorded a shutout in her first collegiate start. She posted eight saves against Ohio Northern’s offense, including five in the first half when the Polar Bears (1-1) outshot Hanover by a 10-3 margin.
The Panthers rebounded in the second period with a 7-6 advantage in shots.
Graham led the Panthers’ attack with three shots, while sophomore forward Rachel Alvis (Cincinnati, Ohio) had two. The squad totaled five shots on goal in the outing, with four coming in the second half.
