Junior Brooke McKay (Carmel, Ind.) finished one shot out of first place to lead Hanover College’s women’s golf team to a second-place finish at the Anderson University Invitational.
McKay fired a two-round total of 155 and was just one stroke behind DePauw University’s Paige Gooch, who captured medalist honors with a 154 (77-77). McKay opened with an 80 in the first round, but rebounded with a tournament-low round of 75 in the second day of play.
Hanover totaled 655 (325-330), while DePauw claimed the team title with a 630 (319-311). The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology was third in the six-team field with a 657 (333-324).
Sophomore Erika Shepherd (Jeffersonville, Ind.) and freshman Brittany Gingerich (Millersburg, Ind.) tied for 11th place after each posted a 165.
Freshman Devan Smith (Depauw, Ind.) turned in a 174 to cap the Panthers’ scoring.
