Junior Claire Hinshaw (New Castle, Ind.) earned another top-10 finish to lead the Hanover College women’s cross country team to a third-place showing at the Madison Kiwanis Invitational.
Hinshaw covered the five-kilometer course in 20:05.3, easily her best time on Hanover’s challenging course. Freshman Cami Trachtman (Carmel, Ind.) also earned all-meet honors, placing 15th in 20:35.5.
Panther sophomore Rachel Smith (Brownsburg, Ind.) ran 20:44.4, placing 21st overall, while freshman Mailika States (Indianapolis, Ind.) ran 21:22.8 to finish 36th.
The final Hanover scorer, sophomore Nikki Lewis (Mahomet, Ill.) finished within five seconds of three teammates, as freshman Brittany Ferrell (Hillsboro, Ohio), freshman Kori Siebert (Borden, Ind.), and senior Ashley Walked finished 45th to 48th overall. Lewis ran 21:53.3, Ferrell 21:54.3, Seibert 21:54.4, and Walker 21:58.0.
Otterbein College won the invitational with 35 points, while the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point totaled 41 points for second. Hanover tallied 106 for third.
Otterbein’s Julissa Poullet ran 19:15.6 to win the meet.
