The Hanover College men’s cross country team employed a solid 35-second spread among their scoring athletes to take 10th in the Madison Kiwanis Invitational.
Freshman Frank Baracani-Thomas (Vincennes, Ind.) led the Panthers with a time of 28:48.2 in his debut at the eight-kilometer distance. Sophomore Ben Franke (Seymour, Ind.) followed with 29:13.7 effort.
The final Hanover scorers finished in a tight pack, with only three seconds separating the trio. Freshman Jake Hally (Indianapolis, Ind.) ran 29:20.5, while sophomore Drew Elston (Carmel, Ind.) ran 29:22.5. Junior Logan Wells (Scottsburg, Ind.) completed the Panther scoring with a time of 29:23.4.
North Central College, the number one ranked team in the country, won the meet, scoring 19 points.
North Central runner John Crain ran 25:36.6 to take top honors in the 13-team field.
