Strong serving and a rally late in the fourth game proved to be the difference as the Hanover College volleyball team defeated Marian University 25-19, 25-23, 23-25, 25-22. The match was held in Collier Arena.
The win improves the Panthers' record to 7-9, while Marian falls to 9-5.
Sophomore Rachel Hasewinkel (Sheridan, Ind.) led the way as she tallied 13 kills, eight digs, and two assisted blocks.
Sophomore Nicole Blevins (McCordsville, Ind.) also had double-digits kills (11) as the Panthers tallied 47 kills in the match.
Hanover served seven aces in the match, led by senior outside hitter Megan Keller (Cleves, Ohio) with three. Junior Sarah Hasewinkel (Sheridan, Ind.) added two of her own.
Three players turned in double-digit tallies for digs, led by senior Kylie Justus (Crawfordsville, Ind.) with 24. Sophomore Maddie Hartman (Madison, Ind.) had 21, while Keller added 13.
The Panthers had 88 total digs in the match.
